Muir Woods
To spend time with my family after the ordination - the first real pause was in Muir Woods. We arrived before the park rangers arrived, and there was a sign saying 'go on in,' so we did. Very few people were there yet, and and everyone, mostly, spoke in a whisper, except for one family - the women were all in high heels click clicking. They seemed out of place, but I am glad they came to the woods that morning.
It was a pensive time. How could it not be when you are standing by trees that are a thousand yeas old, reaching higher above you to the heavens than you can imagine - as if Jack could come here to climb up to the giants in the sky. we walked slowly along the board walk, taking photos, giggling quietly, whispering. Noticing things. Isn't that what advent is all about?
